Meet B

My name is B and this is My Colonial ReMODel! I started out as an amateur blogger, treating this space as nothing more than an online remodel journal for myself and a small handful of friends/family to read. After discovering my love for writing, and experiencing certain unfortunate events that funneled lots of activity to my blog, My Colonial ReMODel has blossomed into something FAR bigger than I ever imagined it being.

I’m 29, married 9 years to my high school sweetheart/handyman/pastor/baller/man-of-ALL-trades! We have THREE adorable sons – Ezekiel (4 yrs), Cruz (who now lives with Jesus), and miracle-baby Valor (3 mo)! Read more on our personal story HERE

Our condo, which I LOVED, suited us just fine as newlyweds, then suddenly became claustrophobic and impractical after entering our baby-makin’ years… and so began the exciting, yet grueling adventure of house-hunting. After crying myself to sleep over losing a bidding war on what I thought was the perfect house, we soon found this beautiful 1967 colonial foreclosure, nestled in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the area! It only took one walk-through to know it was “the one”, so we immediately made an offer. T’was a long emotional process, but we finally held the keys to our new home on June 6, 2012! It needs a lot of work – to say the least – but when we’re done, we hope to have the home of our dreams where we plan to raise our family, and eventually retire a wrinkled and happy couple!

  1. Hello! We don’t personally know one another, but I’ve been following you for a while on instagram. I’ve cried (a lot) with you, prayed for you, and cheered you on as you share your heart’s ups and downs. I am the co-writer of a daily devotional geared toward women called, My Darling. We are currently only on facebook, but plan to expand very soon. Each Wednesday we have what we call, “guest writer Wednesday”, and it’s something everyone looks forward to. We believe in empowering women amd helping them see their God given potential. Seeing our girls grow through the experience of writing makes our hearts so happy! We are starting to schedule the guests for the next few months, and I am taking an extra dose of courage tonight to ask if you’d be interested in being one of our guests? It’s volunteer based only…. but the reward of helping others is far better than money… and I know you know that from what you do. We don’t have many rules; just write what God lays on your heart and use it to glorify Him. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at We would truly love to have you write for us and look forward to hearing from you. (Please feel free to check out our Facebook page, My Darling, to see what we are up to.)

    Shine bright,
    Michelle xoxo

      • Hello again!  I was just following up on how things are going.  I know you are busy and it’s the holiday season, but I wanted to see if you were still interested in writing for us at My Darling?  Please do not feel pressured, I just wanted to catch up with you while I had a quiet moment. (As mommies, these moments are few and far between!) Looking forward to hearing from you.Rise Up,Michelle KinderMy Darling   From: my colonial reMODel To: Sent: Sunday, October 4, 2015 4:49 PM Subject: [New comment] Meet B #yiv6356163576 a:hover {color:red;}#yiv6356163576 a {text-decoration:none;color:#0088cc;}#yiv6356163576 a.yiv6356163576primaryactionlink:link, #yiv6356163576 a.yiv6356163576primaryactionlink:visited {background-color:#2585B2;color:#fff;}#yiv6356163576 a.yiv6356163576primaryactionlink:hover, #yiv6356163576 a.yiv6356163576primaryactionlink:active {background-color:#11729E;color:#fff;}#yiv6356163576 |
