My name is B and this is My Colonial ReMODel! I started out as an amateur blogger, treating this space as nothing more than an online remodel journal for myself and a small handful of friends/family to read. After discovering my love for writing, and experiencing certain unfortunate events that funneled lots of activity to my blog, My Colonial ReMODel has blossomed into something FAR bigger than I ever imagined it being.
I’m 29, married 9 years to my high school sweetheart/handyman/pastor/baller/man-of-ALL-trades! We have THREE adorable sons – Ezekiel (4 yrs), Cruz (who now lives with Jesus), and miracle-baby Valor (3 mo)! Read more on our personal story HERE
Our condo, which I LOVED, suited us just fine as newlyweds, then suddenly became claustrophobic and impractical after entering our baby-makin’ years… and so began the exciting, yet grueling adventure of house-hunting. After crying myself to sleep over losing a bidding war on what I thought was the perfect house, we soon found this beautiful 1967 colonial foreclosure, nestled in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the area! It only took one walk-through to know it was “the one”, so we immediately made an offer. T’was a long emotional process, but we finally held the keys to our new home on June 6, 2012! It needs a lot of work – to say the least – but when we’re done, we hope to have the home of our dreams where we plan to raise our family, and eventually retire a wrinkled and happy couple!
